About Keith & His Shop
WHO I AM & WHAT I DO
I began woodworking back in the mid-1980s when I decided to build my own bee boxes for my honeybees. Ever since then, I have been hooked. Throughout the years, I have handcrafted hundreds of pieces that now fill the homes of previous customers. I truly enjoy the work that I do, and I believe that shows in each piece I build. I have built many different pieces including, but not limited to, China hutches, tables, bed frames, wooden backyard games, picture frames, wine cabinets, media centers, and chimney cupboards. I welcome any ideas you may have for a furniture piece.
Behind a small-town school's football stadium is a few acres of land. Despite this land being right in the middle of town, it is filled with all types of farm animals including donkeys, chickens, ducks, and sheep. Also, located on this land, is my woodworking shop. Built solely for the purpose of crafting furniture, I have spent many of hours in this shop learning and building. I am very fortunate to have this shop directly behind my house as I can easily go to and from. Over the years, I filled the walls of my shop with old signs, antiques, and memories. The old gas station signs and fuel pump are reminders of my grandfather who owned his own gas station back in the day. The large green Central Freight Lines sign hung up is representing my father who drove a truck for the company for many years. In my shop, you'll find many Indian signs to show team spirit for our hometown, the Riesel Indians. In the corner of my shop, plays an old 8-track that frequently sings the voice of the great Willie Nelson. The counter tops are made from the old basketball court where I went to high school. Most days you'll also find our cat, Tabby, curled up on top of the machines watching the time passby. Parked outside the shop is my old 1955 orange Chevrolet truck which occupies my time on my days off. Each piece I build spends time inside this shop to become the perfect piece for you.
